The large regions in northern Italy, are implementing plans of intervention for air quality. Amontg these, we can find "Move-In" project (in italian "Monitoraggio Veicoli Inquinanti", Monitoring Polluting Vehicles) aimed at encourage innovative ways to control vehicle emissions.
Specifically, a black box, installed on the vehicle, makes possible to detect real distances through the satellite connection to dedicated technological infrastructure. By joining the Move-In, the vehicle will no longer be subject to the hourly and daily blocks in force but will instead be monitored through the total count of the km traveled in any time slot and within a maximum km/year limit established based on the type and the environmental class of the vehicle. Participation in the Move-In service implies the commitment, by the participating citizens, to respect the threshold of kilometers assigned on an annual basis to their vehicle. The service costs are 50€ for year 1 (including installation of black box) and 20€ for each following year.
Jeniot offers MoVe-In services free of charge to Genertel insurance telematics customers, who can enjoy pay as you drive tariff, stolen vehicle recovery services , emergency call assistance AND Move-In monitoring with 1 single device.
We started from a simple question: why should customers be forced to install different pieces of hardware (Move-In devices, telematics box, connected car boxes) all working the same way? Why customer should embark in painfull processes and sustain 2 times the same costs? Why with chipset shortage and focus on sustainability should we have different tools for the same purpose?
We want to have a positive impact, in ESG terms, and help our customers save money.
